Established in 1968 by Dr. Marc Reynaud, Recherches Techniques Dentaires(RTD) developed and commercialized the fiber- reinforced composite post and is the world-wide leader in this field. RTD is certified ISO 9001 / EN 13485, employs engineers, technicians and chemists, and is protected by a number process and design patents. The original product line consisted of several plastic endodontic posts for casting techniques. In 1986, RTD began marketing posts utilizing short random carbon fibers for temporary restorations. This inspired the development of the FIRST high-performance fiber post. Collaboration between Dr. Marc Reynaud and Dr. Bernard Duret culminated in the 1988 introduction of the original carbon fiber post-COMPOSIPOST; with long equally pre-tensed carbon fibers. As veteran practitioners, they were determined to find a material, manufacturing process and clinical technique that would spare endodontically treated teeth from their historical failure rate. Today, RTD produces several of styles and shapes of translucent and tooth-colored posts, as well as cements and other accessory products for post-core restoration. Millions of RTD posts have been successfully used, in more than 75 countries, and they have been the subject of over 100 technical publications.

ALWAYS GROWING

In 1996, the expanding RTD relocated to a larger, brand new facility in nearby St. Egreve France. The new facility has been enlarged, in 2004, 2006 and again in 2007. All aspects of manufacturing and quality control testing are done in-house. RTD‘s personnel has tripled in 5 years.
