Recherches Techniques Dentaires (RTD) was established in 1968 in Grenoble, France, by Dr. Marc Reynaud; a practicing dentist. The original product line consisted of several plastic endodontic posts for casting techniques. In 1986, RTD began marketing posts utilizing short, random carbon fibers, for temporary reconstructions. This experimentation inspired the development of the FIRST high-performance fiber post.Collaboration between Dr. Reynaud and Dr. Bernard Duret culminated in the 1988 introduction of the ORIGINAL Carbon Fiber Post- COMPOSIPOST- with long, equally pre-tensed carbon fiber.
Millions of RTD posts have been successfully used, in more than 75 countries, and they have been the subject of over 100 technical publications.
